The Products:
The Lip balm:  I personally liked the color but did not think it went well with the colors given to me.  The balm did not last as long as most lipsticks so if I was to buy one I would definitely buy a different color because I think the staying power would be longer.  It does go on semi-matte so that is why I think it would last longer in a darker color for me.
The Lippy:  I won Queen Vic in a giveaway and I love it.  It is a darker color and it tastes wonderful.  This Lippy is very light and was gone for me in half an hour and it doesn’t have that wonderful buttery taste.  I definitely like the old formula’s staying power and taste much better than this one.
The Eyeliners:  These eyeliners are so pigmented I love them.  The only thing is that they are water-proof which is fine if you don’t make a mistake putting it on or want to smudge but I came up with a way to make it a little better but that will come in the next post where I will actually show you two looks I came up with Yikes. (I am not photogenic).  One way to smudge the eyeliner is using the eye shadow to moisturize it a little but it does take away the color.   In the looks that I created I tried to use only the products sent to me.  So, I do want to say the eyeliners are workable.
The next is the Eye shadow.  I rarely use crème eye shadow but what I did find was that it did have staying power.  It felt like a mousse.  I spread it on with my finger.  I did use a Urban Decay’s eye shadow primer which is one of the best but the eye shadow is nice.
The crème blush.  I haven’t used crème blush in over ten years but I do like them.  This one spread really easily and it just gave a nice glow.
The mascaras.  Ok, I was going to use false eye lashes because I have pretty short lashes but no need to.   These are probably the best mascaras I have ever used and I have used them all.  Lancôme, Dior, MAC, Clinique and tons of drug star brands but these are great!  If you get anything from this line get one of the mascaras.  They retail for $20.00 which is in a good price range.  I went wild over the pink.  I have tried colored mascaras and have to use a primer just to get a little color.  Not with these they are so pigmented two coats and you are good to go.  I did already go and buy the blue but I really want the purple.  I wasn’t sure I would like the pink but I love it.  So, this is the last week that Ulta is having a sale.   Buy $25.00 of butter London and you get a free bottle of Chaucer.  This is where I bought the blue but honestly I am dying for the purple.  I  think this will be my staple mascara from now on.

Ok, so this is so out of my comfort zone it isn’t even funny. Here is my soft Pastel Look.

Day 1 Mish Mash Challenge

Today we start our new challenge that will last until Dec. 31.   We will be posting every Wednesday.  Today’s Challenge was creating a manicure with the color purple.  What I did was a gradient dot manicure.  Using all Butter London Polishes I started with PItter Patter, then used Scoundrel to create the next set of dots and finally finished with Muggins.  It is fairly easy to do, you just need to ensure you are using the right colors if you want to do a gradient.

Kimber’s Challenge A–Z Letter W

Today the letter is W.   W stands for Wallis from Butter London.  This is a great polish that never fails to look nice.  It is a very good neutral.  It is also provides a good palette to stamp so I went ahead and stamped I haven’t done any stamping in a while so I stamped some bamboo and little elephants using DRK plate C.  I have ordered 3 plate sets last month and I am going to order the new Pween set also the DRK-D plate will be making it’s way to the states soon.  So, I want to do a lot more stamping but I also can’t stop ordering polish with so many out right now.  We have just the regular polishes, holos, then great indies and now texture.  My head is going in circles.  I totally need to get my she_t together and do a blog sale.  I have some indies to post tomorrow and I am going to show you my polish room just so you can see what I am dealing with.  I need a professional organizer which luckily I am getting next week, my 6 year old niece.  My daughter will also be her mid July.  So, by then I will need to revamp again.  It is crazy but I love painting my nails and coming up with new designs in stamping.   I have also been trying new products on my hands that I feel are really working.  And I know there is a new challenge coming up and I can’t wait for it to start.  I hope everyone is going to be taking the challenge also.  So, here is my W.  Wallis.

Well, that is all for today.  I wish everybody luck for next week.  I know I missed last week but not because I didn’t have a V, my time was just being monopolized and I truly hate that because I enjoy doing this blog so much even if just ten people read my posts.  This blog is very important to me and I am now just going to have to be selfish with my time and say no.  I remember when I used to do 40 posts a month it felt good last month I only did 29 so, making sure that I post my X is going to be very important.  I might still post my V even though the inlinz code is expired.  I want the complete alphabet for my pinterest page.  So, you might see that post this week.  That is about it.

April favorites

April was a month of a lot of polish and not much nail art.  I ordered a lot of polish.  Probably because it was my birthday and I kept justifying each bottle as a little present to myself.

So, the first polish I want to recognize is of course Claris the beautiful dream pink by Pretty Serious Cosmetics.

And of course we can't get through April without mentioning Rikki.  My favorite of the shimmers.  Which I ended up buying all of those.  Only bought two pixie dust and am conducting an experiment.  I will report next week on my findings.  But I have nothing like Rikki and I look forward to wearing it often.

The galaxy manicure was vindication for the two other ones I did and looked horrid.  I finally got it down and I think it looks pretty good.

Butter London's Sunbaker just reminds me of our summer vacation and how I can't wait to get a little sun and listen to some reggae music.

I added Bobby Dazzler not so much because I am in love with the polish but I like the way this picture looks.  I can't wait to wear this.

This of course is my favorite polish but is it Taboo to spend $27.00 on nail polish?

So, these are my favorites did you see something that you liked during April that I did not add.  Let me know.  I love comments.

KImber's Challenge Letter Q

I was a little worried about Q as I began to go through my polishes and then I found Queen Vic.  Then I found an Old Nerd Lacquer.  Quantim Bluniverse and really meant to show that one but when I would think about this challenge I could not remember what I was going to use.  The first polish that always came to mind was Queen Vic.  So, that just stayed in my mind.  My mind is just totally obsessed with the Jodie Arias trial.  I am so excited tomorrow they have closing arguments but it is bittersweet also because I had just been accepted into law school and then that accident that changed my life.  To top things off they are talking all about psychological statistics which were my favorite psych classes.  Well, at least I know exactly what they are talking about.  Plus it shows my long term memory is strong now if I could just get my short term memory to work then you would be seeing Quantim bluniverse instead of Queen Vic.  A very nice polish,  What can I say it is a butter London so the quality is there.  I'll just save Quantim bluniverse for the next challenge.

So this is Queen Vic do your like it?

Butter London Bobby Dazzler

This is Bobby Dazzler and it is a dazzler and when I first put it on I have to say I was cussing it out.  I came about this polish by a return I made to Nordstrom and this was a no return thing.  So, I had to be sure I wanted it and look at it in the bottle it really is beautiful but OMG.  I got it home and cussed it out.  It streaked, it looked terrible.  I knew what the problem was.  I needed to shake it.  So, I did and then put it on.   I almost cried.  It was thick and just a mess.  So, I bit the bullet and put some thinner in it and shook it and waited until the next day.  It was perfect.  That’s why every night I go into the polish room and shake polishes.  My husband says are you going to do your nails and I tell him no.  You just can’t shake your polish and put it on.  It needs time to settle.  I should have taken a picture of the before.
So, about this polish it is a really foily looking polish.  It looks like you literally have foil on your finger nails.  It dries fast.  Clean up was pretty easy in that I was able to use nail polish remover instead of acetone.   Some of you don’t need to clean up for me it just depends on the day.  Someday I am totally neat others, I am a slob.  So, check out my swatches and leave a comment about whether this is something you would or would not wear.

I totally can’t wait to wear this for real with this ring.  Mother’s Day is coming soon maybe I’ll wear it then.   So, what do you think of the butter London summer line.  A little weird but they obviously had something in mind.  Forces us to be creative.  So, what do you think of Bobby Dazzler.  Dazzler or Dud?

Battle of the Butter Londons

Today, I have the dilemma of which butter London to keep but after seeing both you will see the choice is clear.   This is Torch, a Nordstrom exclusive, I had kind of been waiting for because of the pictures I had seen.  I was so impressed they showed it with gold flecks in the sun.  I got it and was not too pleased.  First, it is a jelly.  Ok, I can overlook that but it did not have the wow factor swatches butter London was putting out.  So, it has been sitting on my go back to Nordstrom shelf for about a week now.  Meantime, I was very happy with Jaffa, the orange crème.

Now go forward one week.  Butter London announces I guess their summer line.   Wow, there is this polish called Sunbaker.  Had to try that one.  Holy crap.  A total winner.  No problems with pictures.  It is like a perfect polish with one flaw I am willing to work with and that is the first coat is a little streaky and I did use three coats but check it out it is like you hear, AHH, when you see it.

Just look at that sparkle.  This is in the shade and look at how it shimmers with gold.  I love this polish.  I see myself wearing very often this summer.  I am so happy with it and so glad I got it.  There is one other from the collection that might have that WOW factor but I won’t know until tomorrow.  I am actually going to drag my butt to Nordstrom and go exchange Torch for I am really looking at Marbs.  If it has the same WOW factor that this does I am set to go.  Since my husband is not going to have a long vacation we are just going to spend a few days at a local beach.  Wish we could go to our hometown beach but it is too far.  So, we settled on a short visit to a local beach which is fine.  Next year it is either Xtapa or back to Venice, CA.  I don’t know which I would want more but we will see.  I might just buy another bottle of this so I can be sure I have it for next summer that is how much I like this polish.
So, if you had to choose what would be your choice they are both pretty, I am just gaga over Sunbaker but I don’t know does anyone prefer Torch?

Adventures in Stamping Orange Base

Today’s challenge was to do something with an orange base.  I had completely forgotten about it then remembered that I did do a manicure for this challenge.  I just deleted some of the pictures so instead of four I only have two.  All you really need is one right?
Ok, for this look I used Butter London’s Jaffa and stamped using Leelac plate B with white Konad polish.  A real KISS manicure but still nice.

Kimber’s Challenge A-Z Letter K

K stands for Kerfluffle.  What the hell is kerfluffle.  I thought it might be a pastry but nope it is a British word for a fuss.   Like Queen Elizabeth made such a kerfluffle when Harry played strip pool.  You learn something new everyday.  I really like this color I got it a when it came out and I am just starting to swatch it.  It is a smooth crème.  It reminds me of a peach sorbet.  Formula is great and this is two coats with one coat of Nubar Diamond top coat.  K- Kerfluffle.
